Job Location: Juja, Kenya

Job Summary: 

We are looking for a talented DevOps Intern  to join our team and help us maintain our software products and Kubernetes infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with Python and some experience working with Docker and Kubernetes. A desire to learn more about the role is also a key requirement.

Responsibilities:

- Write and maintain high-quality Python code

- Work with other developers to design and implement new features

- Debug and troubleshoot code

- Work with product managers to understand and implement user requirements

- Stay up-to-date on the latest Python technologies

- Manage Kubernetes clusters (Installations, Upgrading services and Ensuring proper resources availability)

- Maintain and monitor server infrastructure to ensure 99.99% uptime

- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions

- Create and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and deployments

- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines

- Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization

- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance

- Provide documentation for systems and processes

- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues

- Manage and optimize cloud resources and costs

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (1 year)  in customer service or support.

  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Available to work 24/7 with one day off in the week(night and day shift).

  • Strong desire to grow technical skills

  • The ideal candidate should be willing to provide onsite support and be available outside regular working hours to address any urgent deliverables, issues or downtimes

  • Able to perform other roles as assigned.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
